2011 was the most expensive year ever for natural disaster losses. Hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, flooding and blizzards accounted for an estimate of over $35 billion in direct insured losses. Disasters struck almost every state. From Montana to Georgia and from Arizona to Maine, so few states were left unscathed.
